Funding for Sheriff’s Office
It’s my goal to give our sheriff’s deputies as much money as they would earn in other communities. Recent studies have shown that our deputies are underpaid. We also need more law enforcement on our streets. We are a rural community, and with not enough police we are inviting trouble. I want Pahrump to be a safe place for us to live.
Funding the Fire Department
I’ve visited with our fire department staff and they are really great people who give us everything they’ve got. They work tirelessly to protect us. I want better funding and more staff to cover our growing community.
First Amendment
I am a strong advocate for our First Amendment. As a talk show host, I was bullied by special interests that didn’t want me exposing plans to waste taxpayer money. Our religious freedom and free speech and assembly are the most important rights that we have.
Second Amendment
Our Second Amendment exists to ensure that our First Amendment rights stay in place. I will never negotiate our Second Amendment rights away.
Homeless Camps and Shelters
Pahrump does not have adequate police or fire to house large groups of homeless. I oppose any attempt to build housing for homeless in Pahrump.
No New Taxes
I oppose all new taxes in every circumstance.
God in Society
We have turned our back on God in society. There is a price to pay for this and that is what I believe is going on right now. I believe in the words of 2 Peter 2:19, For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God. Should I suffer unjustly for things that I do not deserve, it is then that I am most like Christ.
Traditional Values
I believe in traditional values and will use government to promote these values, where appropriate. Romans 13 and Matthew 22 teach that there is a separation between God and man, and it would dishonor Him to attempt to create a church-driven government. This I will not do.
Western Culture
Pahrump is a place where we embrace history and a western culture. Horses that wander, unsurpassed freedom, and a place to escape the urban evils are just a few of the important things that we have to work hard to preserve.
Regulation
As a business owner for most of my adult life, I believe there is too much regulation. Nevada particularly is very punitive when it comes to government fees, especially for business owners. I will work wherever I can to eliminate or reduce these fees and regulations.
